Development Authority Promotes Clinch County

​HOMERVILLE, Ga— Michelle Shaw, Assistant Director for Existing Industry and Regional Recruitment for the Georgia Department of Economic Development visited Clinch County recently. Shaw and Development Authority Executive Director ReKasa Hart met with local companies considering expansion to share incentives available through the State of Georgia for companies that meet the criteria

State incentives for expanding businesses can include a tax credit of $4,000 per job per year for five years for two or more jobs created in qualifying industries and an investment tax credit of up to 8% of capital investment for an expansion. For details about the tax credits, contact Hart.

The Development Authority has also been working to promote Clinch County to other partners at the Department of Economic Development. Hart recently attended the Georgia Economic Developers Association’s monthly luncheon in Atlanta to hear a presentation on the “Dos and Don’ts of Economic Development” and to network with other professionals and state project managers. At the meeting, Hart met with the Rural Development Special Interest Group to discuss issues and opportunities for growth with professionals from rural communities throughout the state.
