CCHS Adds Electronics Pathway

HOMERVILLE, Ga—Clinch County High School and Okefenokee Technical College (Coastal Pines Technical College, effective July 1, 2014) have partnered to bring a new opportunity to students. Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, students will have the option of Electronics for a dual enrollment pathway. Through this dual enrollment program, students will receive college credit while attending classes on the high school campus. 

The Electronics pathway will emphasize a combination of electronics technology theory and practical application using both manual and computerized electronics systems. Students may choose to specialize in biomedical electronics, communications electronics, industrial electronics, or telecommunications electronics.

After completing the electronics dual enrollment pathway, students will take the state certification exam for Direct Current Circuits. Students will also have three college courses completed should they wish to continue their electronics study by earning an Electronics Technology diploma or an Electronics Fundamentals diploma.

The Electronics pathway will build a solid skills and knowledge foundation for students, and is a workforce development tool that will benefit industries in Clinch County.
