Manufacturers Appreciation Week Celebrated
Posted on April 24th, 2014

County Commission Chair Debra Thomas and City of Homerville Mayor Tom Kennedy sign proclamations declaring April 14-18 Manufacturers Appreciation Week and congratulating BWAY and Lee Container for being 2014 Georgia Manufacturer of the Year Nominees.

This year is the 20th Celebration of the Technical College of Georgia’s Manufacturing Appreciation week. Manufacturing is vital to Georgia’s economy and has been the primary source of growth in the United States. Approximately thirty-two percent of the Clinch County labor force is directly employed in the manufacturing sector in addition to the indirect jobs created from manufacturers located in the community.  Manufacturers also provide opportunities through educational partnerships, company-sponsored community involvement efforts, volunteer programs and civic involvement.

Manufacturers in Clinch County play a key role in promoting and ensuring a brighter and stronger future for our community.
